Virtual Open Week Webinar

Counselling Workshop - Teaching others to amplify voices which promote wellbeing

Counselling Workshop - Teaching others to amplify voices which promote wellbeing

SPEAKER: Dr Julie Morsillo

Wednesday 2nd September

11aM - 12pM

Join Dr Julie Morsillo as she provides training on how to encourage people to avoid fixating on destructive voices and listen to positive voices that promote their wellbeing.

As counsellors and pastoral carers we commonly find ourselves caring for people who are quite disturbed by the negative words of others that ring loudly in their minds. Often these negative external voices can become internalised, leading to a myriad of negative feelings and ultimately an unhealthy sense of self.

Our job as counsellors and pastoral carers, is to build up discouraged individuals and help them to find and listen to positive voices and experiences in their life. In our roles, our ultimate example is that of Jesus, who not only showed much compassion and care for those most in need but spoke truth and light into people’s lives.
